I Need That: Forever 21 Spotted Safari Peplum Dress

When I saw this dress on Forever 21's website I immediately said I NEED THAT! I was hoping and praying they had it in the store because I wanted to try it on. Super excited to say they did have it at the store near me and it looks FABULOUS on me! I can't wait to go out and wear it (who's taking me on a date haha). I shall post pics of me in it once I wear it. Can't go wrong with leopard ladies. It exudes sexiness. All you need is some red heels and can't nobody tell you NOTHING.

Melissa McCarthy on the Cover of Elle Magazine

I was super excited to hear Melissa McCarthy is on the cover of the November 2013 issue of Elle magazine until I saw the cover. I mean don't get me wrong Melissa looks gorge BUT why is she all covered up in pounds of fabric?? Yes, its fall and fashion gets a little layered, but seriously?? They always cover up the big girls when they happen to allow one of us on a cover of a high fashion magazine. WTF??!!! Don't do us any favors by putting us curvy gals on your magazine covers only to cover us up. There are several other versions of the cover featuring other Hollywood darlings like Reese Witherspoon and they are half naked in body con attire. Its blatantly obvious they had no idea how to style someone over a size 4 on this shoot. I am deeply upset at this cover. Can the fashion and magazine industry please do better??!! Its not enough to include us if you're going to insult us.

For your reference here are the other covers:

What do you think about Melissa's cover? Am I being too sensitive or is it sooo obvious?

Plus-Size Male Models...Where they at?

Big & Tall men, plus-size men, whatever you want to call them, are just as neglected by the fashion industry as us women, but only more so. I never really thought about it much until recently, but then I was like YES, of course they are. When have you ever seen a big dude in a clothing ad? Bigger guys have the same struggles us bigger girls do. But, over in Australia they are working on changing the male modeling industry with plus-size male models. The US needs to follow suit.

Ladies, do the bigger men in your lives complain about the lack of clothing options, lack of models that look like them? Men in general don't really discuss these things, but I'd be interested to hear their take on this.

I will be doing a big&tall male fall fashion feature soon! Big guys need love too!

Plus Size Fall Fashion 2013: Top 5 Coats

One of the things I love about fall fashion is rocking a BAD ASS coat or jacket. Now that I live in the south, I don't get to wear a coat as often. And when I do its rarely seen since I'm usually in a car. Ah the little things I miss about NYC/Philly. Anywho, there are some hot coats out this season. Below is a round-up of my top picks for fall/winter in EVERY budget!

1. Joe Browns Absolute Coat, Simply Be $180

2. Essex Military Jacket, Mynt 1792  $158

3. Faux Leather Wool Jacket, Fashion To Figure  $32

4. Via Spiga Faux Leather Trim Coat, Macy's  $319
5. Peacoat, Lane Bryant  $169.95

Have you gotten your new fall/winter coat or jacket yet? Do you go for the trend or the classic look?

I Need That: Old Navy The Diva Skinny Ankle Pants

THESE PANTS THOUGH!!! Wait a minute! I love Old Navy as much as the next girl, but when did Old Navy start having the HOTNESS with the trends? I usually do Old Nizzle for the basics, but I am very pleased with their fall selection. I tried these pants on in blue last weekend and fell.in.love. I will be scooping these up in the blue and in the print above as soon as my supercash starts on the 24th (you know I pay full price for NOTHING).

I was amazed at how well these pants fit me. Old Navy is still hit and miss with the fit of their clothing, especially their bottoms, but these pants fit me beautifully. As an apple shape with hips for days its hard for me to find pants to fit me well. The stretch in these pants are just enough. I highly recommend!

FINALLY! Lane Bryant teams up with a Designer for Collection

IT'S ABOUT DAMN TIME! Ever since Tar-jay (Target) came out with their first designer collabo back in the day I have been WAITING for the day when a retailer would collaborate with a designer and *GASP* actually make it in plus sizes. Yes, I would be more excited if a non-plus size only retailer did this BUT I'm happy nonetheless that Lane Bryant finally went there. And they are going there in a BIG way. They are collaborating with none other than Isabel and Ruben Toledo who designed Michelle Obama's 2009 Inaugural outfit.

I am so excited for this! I hope its amazing and not too pricey. Is it just me or has Lane Bryant gotten OUT-OF-POCKET with its prices these days? Anywho, I am super excited for this and can't wait for the unveiling! Read more at Huffington Post.

Will you be checking out the collection?

Rebel Wilson to be Weight Loss Spokesperson?

I LOOOOOVE Rebel Wilson. She is hilarious and killing the game right now. She is a big girl breaking down barriers in Hollywood and proves you can be a big girl AND beautiful AND successful. So, I'm not sure how I feel about the rumors that she may sign on to Jenny Craig or Weight Watchers. Both companies are said to be fighting over getting Rebel as their spokesperson. While I would be happy for her to lose weight for health reasons if needed, I would be sad to lose another big girl to the weight loss machine. Not because I don't want her to lose weight for whatever her reason is, but because there aren't many big girls in the public eye. Us real world big girls need role models. How do red carpet looks look on my body type? Can I pull that off? Where did she get that outfit? Skinny/Average chicks can look in any magazine, on any TV show and in any movie to find out what looks good on them. Us big girls have like 5 mainstream celebrities that get any press or airtime to look to for fashion inspiration. Yes, there are more options on the Internet, but I'm talking about mainstream media.

What do you think? Do you want to see Rebel as a new weight loss spokesperson? Or do you enjoy having a fellow big girl for inspiration?
